Why a Jubilee in 2025
In addition to the Holy Year, 2025 is a very important anniversary year for the world. It will be the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima's request for peace on the 1st Saturday of the month. The 2025 Jubilee of the 1st Saturdays of Fatima will therefore be launched by Salve Corda.
In 1917 at Fatima, the Blessed Virgin insisted on the Rosary and announced a future devotion:
"To prevent war I will come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on First Saturdays." Our Lady at Fatima July 13, 1917
Eight years later December 10, 1925, Our Lady appeared to Sister Lucia (a visionary from Fatima) to launch the 1st Saturdays throughout the world. In addition to the devotion of all the faithful, she asked the Pope, in connection with the consecration of Russia, to make an official act recommending the practice of these 1st Saturdays of the month throughout the Church.
While the consecration of Russia has already been mentioned many times by numerous popes, the 1st Saturdays.., second condition for peaceThe Church, however, has largely forgotten this. The stakes are therefore high, because the dramatic evolution of the world's situation is a consequence of our neglect of this request from Heaven.
The incROyable challenge of 100 years on the 1st Saturday of the month
But there has already been a precedent. One hundred years after the 1689 refusal of the Sacred Heart requests at Paray-Le-Monial, the French Revolution of 1789 broke out. Faced with our new neglect of the Fatima requests, the Blessed Virgin alerted Sister Lucy, drawing a parallel with the consequences of the Paray-Le-Monial refusal.
That's why, in 2010, Pope Benedict XVI recalled the prophetic character of Fatima today. The 100th anniversary of the 1st Saturdays in 2025 is therefore to be taken very seriously, and represents a major opportunity to finally spread throughout the world this essential devotion requested by Our Lady to bring peace.
jubilee 2025 events
To mobilize the faithful worldwide, international events will be launched. Every 1st Saturday of the month in 2025, a local pilgrimage will be organized to one of the world's major shrines to perform the four acts requested by Our Lady in reparation for the offenses committed against her Immaculate Heart - confession, communion, rosary and 15-minute meditation on the Rosary. In 2025, devotees the world over will be invited to join the sanctuaries in celebrating the 1st Saturdays where they live. On this day, the same mystery of the Rosary will be meditated on by all, to be in communion with the Church. Finally, shrines will be able to officially announce the permanent establishment of the 1st Saturdays of the month in their basilicas.
In line with the liturgical year, twelve mysteries of the Rosary will be meditated on in 2025, associated with twelve different shrines. For example, in the month when the meditation will be on the Annunciation, the 1st Saturday will take place at the shrine of Guadalupe, where Our Lady appeared pregnant.
To bring the event to life, each 1st Saturday will be the subject of reports on the shrine itself, on how the 1st Saturday of the month unfolds, and will be distributed to a wide range of Catholic organizations and media around the world. The Jubilee 2025 of the 1st Saturdays of Fatima is coordinated by the "Alliance 1ers samedis du mois" in conjunction with various Catholic organizations.
